For you guys that are admins for large networks. I have a request for a presentation please. As I’m moving soon, I want to get my business up and running in my new town, and one of the services I’m interested in providing is Managed Services for asset management, but also some services for local businesses to help manage their networks, domains, users, email and so forth. I know the de-facto choice for this stuff in today’s world is ‘Windows Active Directory’, but let’s be serious, I’m not going to use it, even if it was free…so I’m looking for some solid presentation on LDAP domains, setting up users, the benefits, some good tools, and so on.
Additionally, if you know of some great services out there in the world that are already online, but need a more technically capable person to utilize, I’d love to hear about them.
I’ve been looking into OpenLDAP, and it looks promising. This beeng a bit of a Windows world still, I would like something that can do both Linux, Windows, Mac, BSD, etc if such a thing exists.
Thanks, and beyond presentations, links to do some reading are always welcome!
