We’ve several groups try to do a combined phone / desktop Linux setup now, and here we go again with Samsung jumping into it. Maybe they’ll be able to do it. They are, of course approaching this from the other direction. Where Ubuntu and Sailfish, and yes, even Microsoft with their Windows Phone implementation all started with Linux or Windows, and tried to move to phones, lacking greatly the necessary hardware driver capabilities needed to make it really work on any device.
Samsung, in contrast, has a huge Phone following already, and getting that group to consider using their phone docked into a keyboard, mouse, and large monitor, might be less of a challenge. Time will tell.
